Prey screenshots from 1997 79 of these screenshots were released by 3DRealms to promote the game, either for E3 or during the last months of the year. The penultimate one was originally published by Gamespot UK in 1997, then appeared again in the September 1998 issue of PC Gaming World, together with the last screenshot that portrays the same environment. The next 11 were released by Frederik Schreiber on the 3DRealms Discord channel in 2019, but they are all dated 1997. The rest are photographs showing stills from a backroom E3 demo. They all show Paul Schuytema's incarnation of Prey, based on "portal technology".
