- PC Gamer preview about Tom Hall's iteration, written in October 1996.
- Anarchy Prey Page. It included an unofficial mirror of the 1996 weekly updates, the 1995 screenshots, some quaintly inaccurate technical specifications, and it insisted on calling the 3DRealms web site "BBS".
- Prey Portal, amateur Prey site giving news about Prey as well as competing first-person shooters released around 1998. It mirrored screenshots from the 3DRealms site, included a forum, and exhuded misplaced optimism with sections like an empty database of Prey players, clans, and a contest to guess the release date of Prey.
- Crus article about Paul Schuytema's iteration, written for the 1998 E3.
- Preyground, part of the 3D Portal network. It included news, interviews, screenshots, and a forum. Updated from 1997 to 1999. Source of the Prey Museum bar at the bottom of these pages, as well as many screenshots from Paul Schuytema's iteration.
- Lon Matero's Prey page. One of the first sites about Prey, it archived screenshots, videos, documents and a FAQ written by Lon Matero. A history section was added in 2001, then updated in 2005.
- Powerup Gaming article on the history of Prey, written in 2016.
